Hilltop MTB's youth performance & development club programming is our enriched training environment for passionate and deciated young mountain bike riders interested in developing towards a competition or coaching pathway.  Our training philosophy is based on Hilltop MTB founder's background as a long-time competitor on the Canadian National Gymnastics Team, and extensive history of World Cup Downhill and Enduro Mountain Bike Racing.

Our training philosophy centres around the underlying pillars of "FUN, FITNESS & FUNDAMENTALS" that encircle any training pathway. 

Whether an athlete chooses a competition or coaching pathway, our aim is to create 'life-long athletes' and community ambassadors!

As Hilltop MTB riders have come to expect, sessions are geared towards passionate and dedicated young riders looking for progressive coaching that centres around skill development, strategy & decision making and development of mental and emotional resilience to help riders acquire the skills and confidence to throw-down on any trail... on bikes and beyond!

A fun and supportive program for our more experienced young riders, you can expect:

  • Skills, drills & progressions

  • Building autonamous thinkers 

  • Mental strength techniques

  • Trail etiquette & basic bike care

  • Improving understanding of underlying MTB concepts

  • Exploration of local terrain

2022 progamming offers multiple options for weekly or bi-weekly Spring, Summer, Fall and off-season training sessions, and is complimentary to our monthly collaborative program,

WHO IS IT FOR?

Our performance & development team programming is geared towards strong-intermediate to advanced youth, committed to progression and personal growth, both on and off the bike.

*Requests considered and encouraged for younger/older riders if they feel this programming would be a fit*

WE'RE HERE FOR YOU, WHATEVER YOUR ASPIRATIONS ARE
APPLICATION PROCESS

 

All athletes that are interested in this program must fill out an application.  

 

We do this to ensure a committed group of athletes are enrolled, alongside an equal number of male and female riders. 

The application period is open from January 1st  to February 6th.  All applications will be reviewed and a rider/parent interview will be arranged for a date/time within the month of February.

 

We will follow up with all applicants at the beginning of March and our club team will be announced March 5th!

Our aim is to provide INCLUSIVE programming - In-House scholarship opportunities for our development programs are available upon request.

 

You may also apply for grant funding through the programs below.

 

Also for those in need, who are capable, goal oriented, community-minded, and in love with mountain biking, we encourage you to apply for the "Shred Athletic Society Scholarship Program"... but act fast, 2022 applications close March 12th, 2022.

 

We also offer an installment program to help make programming costs more manageable.
