I have always been a sporty outdoorsy type. Hailing from a small farming town in New Brunswick, that meant the usual varsity sports...and horses. Basketball was my first obsession, until college introduced me to Ultimate Frisbee! Eventually finding my way to BC, I represented Canada at Ultimate World Champs. Following a car accident, that ended my ability to run, I was forced to hang-up my ultimate "cleats". This is when mountain biking entered my life and changed my world forever!
I began my mountain biking journey on the North Shore with a women's club called the Muddbunnies. It wasn't long before I began leading rides, sharing knowledge, and eventually running the Muddbunnies club. A few short, short years in, I got to travel the PNW racing enduro and XC. My best memories were of giving it my-all in the name of doing my best... well that AND crossing the finish line on Day #7 of the BC Bike Race!!
I have been teaching and mentoring sport most of my life and it is an integral part of who I am. I strive to share with others the feeling of inclusiveness and an "anything is possible" attitude. Making learning fun and providing athletes with an empowered feeling, while redefining what they thought possible, is for me, what it's all about!
