Our approach to athlete development is founded on the belief in a comprehensive methodology that integrates real-world experiences with evidence-based research and education. Recognizing the unique qualities of each athlete – their strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations – our training philosophy is meticulously crafted to meet their specific needs. By merging practical experiences with the latest insights in coaching science, we ensure our athletes receive the most effective and relevant training methods available.

Our commitment to evidence-based research and education permeates every facet of our program, optimizing athlete development and performance. From honing physical conditioning and technical prowess to cultivating mental resilience and strategic acumen, our training principles are firmly grounded in proven methodologies and continuously refined in line with the latest standards and advancements.


At Hilltop MTB, we take pride in the professionalism and expertise of our coaching staff. Each of our performance coaches undergoes rigorous training through the Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association (PMBIA) and Competition Development Certification through Canada's National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), guaranteeing they uphold the highest standards of coaching excellence.


Moreover, founder Jaime Hill, posses over 20-years of multi-disciplinary coaching and competition experience, and holds a Graduate Certificate in High-Performance Coaching and Technical Leadership from the University of British Columbia, augmenting our team's knowledge and capacity to nurture the growth and success of our athletes.


With this blend of specialized training and academic credentials, our coaches are fully equipped to offer unparalleled guidance and support, empowering athletes to realize their full potential both on and off the bike.


Through this comprehensive approach, we strive to set our athletes on a trajectory towards long-term success and fulfillment throughout their athletic journey.

LTAD Model.png

The Long-Term Athlete Development Model (LTAD)   provides a framework of guidelines & principles that help guide our team of professionally trained performance coaches in assisting athletes in achieving success and excellence.

Starting with the "FUNdamentals" stage and progressing through the "Learn to Train" stage as part of our Three2Six After School practices, aspirational young riders then have the opportunity to advance to our Youth Performance & Development pathways as they approach the "Train to Train" stage.

Dedicated young athletes have the opportunity to advance to the highest levels of competition and may also continue their involvement in various capacities within the sport, including coaching & mentoring new generations of riders.

Adults entering our performance pathway come from diverse backgrounds, each with their unique motivations, whether it's embracing competitiveness, expanding social circles, or pursuing new athletic endeavors.

Whatever your situation, there is no age limit to improving performance, and our team is here to help!
